"MSC Paloma" - the largest container vessel in the history of the port of Rijeka

 

Rijeka, 12.16.2016. Today at AGCT we berthed the largest container vessel not only in history of port of Rijeka, but also the North Adriatic. "MSC Paloma" sailed in Rijeka within the regular weekly service directly connecting Rijeka with the Far East ports, service which is jointly held by Maersk and MSC (also known as the "2M" alliance).

 

Although the "MSC Paloma", with its length of 365.5 m is somewhat shorter than the 367 m long Maersk "G-class" vessels, which we regularly see within this service, with the 14,028 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) capacity she is the new record holder.

 

"MSC Paloma" berthed this morning at 10 am, operations began around 11 am and will continue through 3 shifts, after which she will departure from the Adriatic Sea.
