This weekend, two new quay cranes were loaded onto the vessel Zhen Hua 25 in Shanghai. After careful securing, the fully assembled cranes set sail early this morning on their long journey to Rijeka, sailing around Africa. The route is approximately 11,000 nautical miles and is expected to take about 35–40 days. Their arrival in Rijeka is planned for mid-November.
Once they reach AGCT, the cranes will undergo unloading, commissioning, and testing, with the goal of being fully operational by the end of the year.
The cranes were manufactured by ZPMC, the world’s leading producer of container handling equipment. They are the latest generation of Super Post Panamax cranes, specially designed to meet AGCT’s requirements with optimized ground loading.
These cranes will enable AGCT to handle the largest container vessels sailing the world’s oceans.
The new quay cranes are just the first part of our terminal equipment upgrade. Within the next month, we also expect the delivery of two new RTG yard cranes. What makes these RTGs special is their hybrid drive, which will deliver fuel savings and contribute to environmental protection through reduced emissions.
