„Multimodal Solutions for the Danube Macro Region“ conference was held in Salzburg last March 6, 2014. Adriatic Gate Container Terminal was one of the invited stakeholders, presenting the benefits of using North Adriatic ports, i.e. Rijeka and AGCT as the Gateway for the Danube Region, which has, following the adoption of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region by the European Commission on December 8th 2010 became the 3rd European Macro Region, beside the Mediterranean and the Baltic Sea Macro regions.

 

With upgraded terminal capacities and operational equipment, geographical position on some of the most important EU Corridors, highway and rail connections with the hinterland AGCT and Rijeka was recognized as one of the core European sea ports and gateways for the region.
