Notice on construction works at the West Gate

Dear clients, We would like to inform you about the works on dismantling of the gate eaves on the West Gate at AGCT. Since yesterday's weather forecast for Saturday 28/02/2015. was strong wind, commencement of works was postponed for the next week from March 5th – March 8th. For more details kindly either contact us, or your local agent.
Rijeka, 24.02.2015. Today at around 2 PM container vessel CONTSHIP ECO berthed on our terminal for the first time. Along with Orkun Kalkavan and Reecon Emir, Contship Eco is one of the 3 ships that are part of the regular COSCO service calling Rijeka once a week. This service has so far linked the Northern Adriatic ports with the Greek port of Piraeus. This route was serviced by two container vessels in a regular weekly rotation (the aforementioned Orkun Kalkavan and Reecon Emir). This service has recently been upgraded in a way that it now directly connects Rijeka with the major ports in Turkey, hence including of another vessel into the service was necessary. GERDA MAERSK – record breaker

First vessel in the joint weekly service by MAERSK LINE and MSC connecting Rijeka directly with the Far East GERDA MAERSK is the first container vessel to be berthed at Brajdica as part of the new joint service held by MAERSK LINE i MSC shipping lines. The vessel arrived today morning, 20.02.2015. and is the is the largest vessel in the history of port of Rijeka. XIN QIN HUANG DAO is the first container vessel that was, as part of the new service Phoex/AMX8/AMC4, berthed yesterday night (17/02) at AGCT. ALESSANDRO BECCE - New AGCT CEO

Mr. Alessandro Becce has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT), company managing the container terminal in Rijeka, Croatia. Mr. Becce has replaced Mr. Phillip Marsham, who has been AGCT’s CEO from October 2012. Mr. Becce is coming from the port of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia where he had spent the last 3 years as Chief Operating Officer at DP World’s container terminal with 1,8 million TEU throughput, coordinating a team of 1.150 employees. Before that for more than 5 years he was CEO of the container terminal in Cagliari, Italy (Contshipitalia, Eurogate). It is our great pleasure to inform you about the start of a new unique service offered by COSCO directly connecting Rijeka with major Greek and Turkish ports. New train connection Budapest ↔ Rijeka

From December 18 2014., as a reault of cooperation between the Swiss Company Hupac and Croatian Company Transagent a new intermodal train connection between Budapest and Rijeka in Croatia has been launched. Thanks to this new connection the terminal of Rijeka will be connected through the Gateway in Budapest with Germany, Benelux, Russia, Ukraine and the CIS Countries. We are very pleased to introduce Mr. Alessandro Becce, who will be succeeding Mr. Phill Marsham effective February 15, 2015. Alessandro comes from Cagliari and is married with 2 kids, he has 17 years of port experience, which include senior positions in the Italian ports of La Spezia, Gioia Tauro, and Cagliari as well as Savona / Vado and Jeddah. “I am very pleased, that Alessandro has decided to join the ICTSI family, and I am sure that he will be instrumental in the continuous development of AGCT” – said Mr. Hans-Ole Madsen, ICTSI Regional Sr. Vice President for EME Region
